Default coolant sensor

Looking into "upgrading" to 02' f150....FX4
ran code while looking at it...came up with just one code ~ coolant sensor~...cant remember exactly which number it was, forgot to write it down, sorry

Is this hinting of the infamous head gasket issue?

the fellow that wanting to sell it says it comes on here and there, & that he had it looked into but was told not to worry about it. Also stated It has never used or lost coolant, or overheated

after a brief test drive....it didn't over heat, and didn't leave puddles...ran fine

the other thing was after starting the engine the A/c would briefly blow warm air...then start pumping ice cold air...for maybe 20sec. It that maybe just low on refrigerant?? or is that normal?

Was the vehicle up to operating temperature when you scanned for codes? Did you just check memory codes or was it a key on engine running test?

If it was a KOER self test and it wasn't up to temp it will have a code for the ECT reading low.

As for the A/C blowing warm when the vehicle is first started, that is normal.

No the engine was off, so just reading from the memory . but still warm.
I chatted with a couple of local techs about the code...they both didn't feel it was anything to serious...possibly/probably a sticky t-stat. One fellow pretty much mentioned that the head gasket issue pretty much went away in 2000.

I pretty much suspected that the A/C thing was normal, just tossed it out there to get some feed back.

Another item though....the over head compass and temp display inside the cab was not working....Is there a maybe a blown fuse....or is that going to be just get a new one type deal??

FYI....I bought it,

Update

It seems like a weak/lazy T-stat after driving it for a few days
the code has not retripped...to date

The code has not reoccurred...I did swap in a new T-stat
the temp, according to the gauge, seems to be a bit more stable and consistent now .
