With the entire Ford Bronco market – as a whole – heating up in a big way over the past several years, we’re seeing a wide variety of SUVs pop up for sale and go for big bucks. That includes both nice, low-mile examples and even higher-mile, well-worn ones – from all generations, not just a few.
This 1971 Ford Bronco is fitted with a Four Wheel pop-up camper and powered by a 302ci V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The camper features a couch, an over-cabin bed, storage cabinets, a dual-burner stove, a cooler, and a sink. Additional equipment includes manually locking front hubs, 15″ wheels, rear wheel-arch extensions, chrome bumpers, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The truck is finished in yellow and equipped with black rear wheel-arch extensions, chrome bumpers, and fold-away mirrors. The Four Wheel pop-up camper features color-coordinated stripes, rear-door access, rear and right-side windows, LED auxiliary lights, and fabric pop-up tent walls. There are holes on the fenders and left door, paint fade on the front end, and paint chips around the body.
Five-hole 15″ wheels are mounted with 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires showing 2009 date codes. The front axle is fitted with manual locking hubs, and braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in white vinyl, and equipment includes manual windows, an analog clock, a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a center console with integrated cupholders.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer with inset gauges for charging status, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure, while three auxiliary gauges are housed beneath the dashboard.
The pop-up camper was installed by Four Wheel Campers of Denver, Colorado, in June 1983. Features include an upper bed over the cabin, a plaid couch, a removable table, a curtain divider, and faux wood cabinets and floors. The kitchenette includes a cooler, a sink, and a dual-burner stove.

About The Author
Growing up, my father always believed that every family needed a truck—there’s just something about having a vehicle capable of hauling anything at a moment’s notice. That philosophy stuck with me, and it’s been the foundation of my lifelong passion for Ford trucks.
While I’m best known for my work with Ford Rangers, I’ve owned a wide variety of Ford trucks over the years—including F-150s, F-250s, F-350s, and even larger rigs like the Ford Excursion, Ford Expedition, and a 1982 Ford Econoline Sportsmobile camper van. I’ve used these vehicles for everything from family transportation to towing car trailers and campers, and each one has fueled my love for Ford’s versatility and durability.
I especially enjoy the styling of 1970s and 1980s Ford trucks—the bold designs, rugged presence, and classic charm are timeless. Sharing my passion for Ford trucks, vans, and SUVs with other enthusiasts online brings me a great deal of joy, and it’s why I created Blue Oval Trucks.
This website is dedicated to helping Ford truck enthusiasts explore, learn about, and celebrate these incredible vehicles. While I share my expertise and experiences here, Blue Oval Trucks is an independent enthusiast site and is not affiliated with Ford Motor Company.
