1969 Ford GRT-100

Doug Gonzales and his team at Lucky 7 Speed Shop in Northern California built the amazing 1969 Ford F-100 you see here.

They started with a custom chassis from Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs outfitted with JRi coil-over shocks, rack-and-pinion steering, sway bars, a Moser 9-inch rearend, and Wilwood 14-inch disc brakes. The chassis rolls on 18×10- and 18×12-inch U.S. Mags wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires – 275/35s in the front and 315/30s in the rear.

Power comes from a 425 horsepower Roush Performance 5.0-liter SR Coyote crate engine that sends power to a Tremec T-56 six-speed transmission.

Once the body was smoothed out, and the custom sheet metal work done in the engine compartment and bed, the whole thing was painted PPG Toner Red by Tim Nickel at Bodylines by Nickel.

The interior received a custom transmission tunnel, Flaming River tilt steering column, Vintage Air system, and custom pedals. A custom gauge cluster from Dakota Digital was used in the dash, and Dynamat sound deadener was used to help quiet the ride. New wiring came from Painless Performance, new seats and a dash pad from TMI, and concert-quality tunes from Kicker.

The truck was build to be a grand prize giveaway at the 2019 Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus Ohio, and has been given the name “Goodguys GRT-100”.
