This is my (blueovaltrucks.com) 2010 Ford F-350 FX4 SuperDuty. It’s a Lariat with leather and all of the options, and is powered by a 6.4L diesel. I bought this truck used, and built it up as the ultimate adventure vehicle capable of hauling my Forest River Work & Play toy hauler camper.
It didn’t always look quite like this. When I bought it, it was a Texas truck with the heavy duty Ranch Hand bumpers:

And this was after my modifications to it:

The modifications included:
- 3-Inch Rough Country suspension lift – LINK
- 295/70/18 (34.50x12x18) Cooper Discoverer STT PRO tires – Link
- Smittybilt 12,000 lb winch – LINK
- Pro Comp 9004 6-Inch halogen off-road lights – LINK upgraded with Pro Comp 130 watt bulbs – LINK
- Eyourlife 180 Watt spot/flood 32-inch LED Light Bar – LINK
- Amber tear drop cab lights – LINK
- Amber side marker lights – LINK

The bed received modifications as well:
- Herculiner roll on bed liner – LINK
- Larger than normal bed mounted tool box – craigslist
- 5-Gallon diesel fuel can and holder – LINK
- 5-Gallon water can – LINK in a Smittybilt Jerry Can Holder – LINK
- Shovel & Axe mounted to the rear of the bed box – Lowes
- Eyourlife 72 Watt spot/flood 12-Inch LED light bar – LINK
- Pair of TMH 48 Watt LED work lights under rear bumper – LINK
The spare tire had to be secured in the bed, because the rear bumper blocked access to the crank to lower it from under the truck.

The interior received a few additions as well:
- Uniden Bearcat 980 SSB CB Radio With Sideband And WeatherBand – LINK
- Wilson 305-38 Little Wil Magnet Mount CB Antenna – LINK
- Uniden 800 MHz 300-Channel Base Mobile Scanner – LINK
- Tram TRAM 1199 Glass Mount All-Band Scanner Antenna – LINK
- Samsung Tablet mounted to the center console (AT&T)

The tablet is used for navigation, weather maps, finding local amenities, and internet. The F-350 Lariat came with built in navigation, but the tablet offers detailed information on a far greater level.

I logged a lot of miles on this truck driving it from coast to coast. I clocked over 7,000 miles in July 2017 after a 3-week trip I called Roadtrip 2017 – Exploring The West.
I traded the truck for a 2016 Ford Expedition XLT in September 2017.
This page now serves as a memory to this truck and the places it took me.

About The Author
Growing up, my father always believed that every family needed a truck—there’s just something about having a vehicle capable of hauling anything at a moment’s notice. That philosophy stuck with me, and it’s been the foundation of my lifelong passion for Ford trucks.
While I’m best known for my work with Ford Rangers, I’ve owned a wide variety of Ford trucks over the years—including F-150s, F-250s, F-350s, and even larger rigs like the Ford Excursion, Ford Expedition, and a 1982 Ford Econoline Sportsmobile camper van. I’ve used these vehicles for everything from family transportation to towing car trailers and campers, and each one has fueled my love for Ford’s versatility and durability.
I especially enjoy the styling of 1970s and 1980s Ford trucks—the bold designs, rugged presence, and classic charm are timeless. Sharing my passion for Ford trucks, vans, and SUVs with other enthusiasts online brings me a great deal of joy, and it’s why I created Blue Oval Trucks.
This website is dedicated to helping Ford truck enthusiasts explore, learn about, and celebrate these incredible vehicles. While I share my expertise and experiences here, Blue Oval Trucks is an independent enthusiast site and is not affiliated with Ford Motor Company.
